In the summer of 2018, I was fortunate enough to secure an internship with the Doha Centre For Media Freedom (DCMF). The centre was founded back in 2008 to champion free speech and promote press freedom throughout the Middle East.

 

I Interned there for two weeks, and I can honestly say it was an eye opening experience to see how the centre works and how it assists journalists all around the world through financial assistance and other forms of support.

 

Throughout the two weeks I spent at DCMF, I was able to enhance my skills in video, and audio editing software, edit articles, and write a couple myself. The staff were amicable and professional and assisted me in the many queries I had, whether they were work-related or not.

Overall, the two weeks I spent at the DCMF were really beneficial when it came to shaping my career aims and plans for the future.
